Italy Finish 2nd in Group B to Advance
Draw with Croatia Sends Italy to Round of 16
Italy advanced to the knockout stage of UEFA Euro 2024 with a 1-1 draw against Croatia in their final Group B match at Leipzig Stadium on Tuesday.
The result sees Italy finish second behind Group B winners Spain, while Croatia's tally of two points and -3 goal difference means they are eliminated from the tournament.
Italy took the lead in the 17th minute through a stunning strike from Marco Verratti, but Croatia levelled through Ante Rebic just before half-time.
Both teams had chances to win the game in the second half, but neither could find a winning goal.
